Calf Barn - Combi-Tunnel Ventilation

Combi-Tunnel ventilation is a negative-pressure ventilation system designed for calf barns in regions with significant daily or seasonal temperature fluctuations. By automatically switching between ventilation modes, it helps maintain optimal environmental conditions for calves throughout the year.

During warm periods, fresh air is drawn into the barn through a Tunnel opening, creating a cooling effect through increased airspeed across the barn with Tunnel ventilation. Negative pressure is generated by wall fans located at the opposite end of the calf barn.

During winter or colder periods, fresh air is introduced by inlets, providing even air distribution to remove excess humidity, CO2, and ammonia. Low air speed is desired to prevent drafts. Air is exhausted through chimneys or through some wall fans, providing consistent air quality for calves in all seasons.
